Craftsman Tool Box Drawer Lever
Back in 1987, when I was 17 years old, I temporarily moved back to my hometown in southwest Florida to attend to diesel mechanism school. To undergo aside, I worked deuce-ac jobs including an apprenticeship at a big-rig repair buy at and lived with my grandmother.
One day, my father (RIP) took the fivesome-time of day trek to surprise Maine with an crude birthday naturally occurring: a shiny new Craftsman tool chest, along with a new set of pro-point Craftsman hand tools.
I finally felt legit.
29 years later o, that tool chest tranquillise lives in my garage and unmoving holds many of the tools my generate brought me that day. That tool cabinet has been through a lot—it served me well in school, it was my primary toolbox at a detail shop I ran for several years in my 20s, and I sometimes still use it today for extra entrepot. Certain, it's been spray-varnished a few times and some of the drawers scantily open, but she distillery works, for the most part.
Up until not too long ago, I'd had somewhat of an affinity for the Craftsman brand, which began around 1927 (the brand… I'm not THAT old). Admittedly, they're non my tour-to tools anymore for reasons I won't stupefy into here, other than to enounce that Craftsman is non quite a the brand I one time knew. But change happens. And some will continue to compare professed, consumer, and prosumer tools unfairly against one another.
That said and for our community of mostly weekend warriors, the new Craftsman 52″ industrial toolbox/rolling console jazz band looks solid. Available in red or black and as separate pieces (top and bottom), for our purposes, we're looking at the combo as a completely.
The meridian tool case has a huge flip over-top storehouse area that doubles as a charging station with its integrated six-outlet power strip and deuce USB ports. The lid itself is supported by heavy-duty gas struts and, unlike my old box, I *think back* the drawers on this one will still open with the top lid closed.
Hindrance Price happening Amazon!
Inside and at the back of the top storage area, there's a jimmy to plosive speech sound the drawers from opening. This isn't the same as the keyed lock, which is happening the face of both the top and bottom chests and will really lock the unit, requiring a key to unlock from each one.
The top chest also has a set of handles, one on each side.
There are eight one-half-drawers on the top thorax and 10 on the bottom rolling locker, each capable of holding up to 100lbs. The top pectus has deuce contrastive kiwi-sized drawers, while the bottom cabinet has four drawer sizes (size meaning storage mental ability).
The drawers soaring smoothly, each on a set of DynaGlide soft-close ball bearing sliders that won't let the drawer sweep when closed aggressively. From each one drawer also incorporates an Al blade wield with ridges for a better grip when workforce are sebaceous.
Impediment Price along Virago!
The bottom rolling joyride locker rests on four 5″ casters capable of holding 1,500lbs while nonmoving being mobile. On one lateral, a tubular handle makes rolling the bottom cabinet easier and doubles Eastern Samoa a place to string up a shop towel or cardinal. The bottom cabinet weighs in at 221lbs, for a conjunct weight of astir 376lbs.
Note: Some other option would comprise to corrupt 2 of 26 inches each to accommodate the 52 inch round top tool case.
I'm really in the market for a new tool around chest combo, and piece there are many to compare, the Craftsman is unrivaled I'll certainly consider and you should, as well. You posterior corrupt them separately in the following links:
